Forcible Touching Incident Involving Multiple Students Reported At Area College

A student at a Hudson Valley college has reported that she was inappropriately and unwillingly touched by a group of male classmates without her consent.

Students at the Dutchess County Community College received an email this week regarding an incident of forcible touching in a classroom on campus.

The Office of Campus Public Safety received a report from the school’s Title IX Coordinator Esther Couret, of an incident that took place between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4 in a classroom in Washington Center.

According to the report, a female student stated that a small group of male students from the same class walked by her and touched her inappropriately. No other details of the alleged incident were immediately available. School officials could not be reached for comment late on Tuesday afternoon.

No suspects have been identified. The incident is currently under investigation.
